Colonsay og Oronsay
Colonsay og Oronsay, to øer blandt de indre Hebrider vest for Skotland, ligger ved mundingen af Firth of Lorne og hører til Grevskabet Argyll. De adskilles kun ved et smalt stræde, som ved lavvande kan passeres af fodgængere, og er tilsammen 45 kvadratkilometer med (1901) 313 indbyggere, der driver agerbrug (kartofler og byg) og kvægavl. Sproget er endnu for en stor del
gælisk. På begge øer findes ruiner af kirker og klostre og mange smukt udhugne stenkors. Øerne er opkaldte efter den hellige Columba og Oran, som skal have opholdt sig her 563 på vejen fra Irland til Jona.
